Is my blog going anywhere?

I think the approach that I will take is to just add my view on the research and my evidence that supports it. I will be using West's framework to help assist me in the essay. I will be analyzing the fiancĂ©e of my blogger from essay one. She recently started blogging again and started a whole new account. Some of the things that she does is review on products for fashion as well as blog about her personal life. Being that she started blogging again, I can make a comparison with her and Phillip Defranco. I can see how a new blogger blogs compared to an experienced blogger. That will not be my main focus though. My main focus will be finding the elements in her blog that shapes her identity. Then I will make an argument and add to the pool of research just like West did.

You can probably tell that I have some things figured out which means that I am not struggling that much on this essay. The only thing that will stress me out is procrastination which is my own fault. As of the essay, everything seems to be under control. For the procrastination issue I will work this out on my own.

  1. I see a bit of a contradiction here where you say that "she recently started blogging again" and that you can "see how a new blogger blogs." But if she is blogging again, she's not really a new blogger is she? That could be really interesting to look at though if you analyzed her identity in her old blog and compared it to her identity in her new blog. If they have different topics you could also look at how she adopts her socially situated identity based on the type of stuff she's looking at and her target audience. I don't want to confuse you or make you start over haha, just an idea.
Procrastination is killer! Try setting goals for yourself of how much you want to get done each day, then you're not stuck with a ton of work at the last minute. Good luck! :)

  2. It sounds like there's things you want to discuss about the aspects of blogging besides identity. However, you're constrained by the prompt. I felt the same way with the first essay. You seem to have an idea where you're paper is going though.

  3. cool! sounds like your own inner demon of procrastination will be the challenge.

sounds interesting to analyze the fiance for this one. It might show how their blogs are in conversation. I wonder if the will use similar languages--like social, emotional, etc...
